fix: prepare llms.txt for an asynchronous Fumadocs index - #59
The Dependabot Fumadocs 16.10.3 → 16.15.12 update in #40 fails compilation because the LLM index API becomes asynchronous. Await the index before rewriting its URLs; this also works with the current synchronous implementation.
Keep Fumadocs on the supported 16.10 patch line. An attempted 16.15 migration also changes static search from Orama to ZBSearch. Even after enabling English stemming in the exporter and browser, the subscriptions guide falls outside the existing first-ten-results requirement for subscription. Document the migration requirements and retain the existing search probes and budgets.
Validation on Node 22 with the current Fumadocs version: clean installation, production build, dependency compatibility check, search quality and size checks, and production dependency audit passed. The exported llms.txt retains its content, absolute links, and single top-level heading. Production audit reports zero vulnerabilities.
The async await of generator.index() in app/llms.txt/route.ts:11 is the correct forward-compatible change: it resolves the future Fumadocs 16.15 asynchronous index API while remaining compatible with the current synchronous implementation. Combined with export const dynamic = 'force-static', Next.js still prerenders the response at build time, so behavior is unchanged on the supported 16.10 line. The added MAINTENANCE.md sections accurately document the lockfile-only Dependabot strategy, the cross-package version invariants, the new check-dependency-compatibility CI gate, and the unresolved 16.15 search-ranking regression that must be fixed before any migration.
