jellyfin-serverfor the current12.0-rc2release, requires data directory change between Jellyfin 10.11.x and12.0: (see jellyfin/jellyfin#17214 for the upstream-side report).
Currently harcoding
--datadirgoing forward, plusa one-time migration block in the service script (TERMUX_PKG_SERVICE_SCRIPT)
that copies old library content forward and fixes stale DB paths if it
detects the old location populated and the new one empty. I am just copying data and that leaves data in two places.
My question is, should I (I shouldn't) do a delete or rename of old data/data dirs in the service script? Or maybe a one time migration script that user can run if he has previously installed
jellyfin-serverbut where would that go?Any check I can put there should mostly be considered unreliable before deciding to delete old data or even thinking that the migration will succeed or was succeeded.
These are currently only be decided by user. How do I do the message passing? I mean usually I go to Termux's Reddit and post the debs and write instructions for new packages/updates.
Since I have a running instance of
jellyfin v12that I have been testing for days now, I can confirm that it is working fine and migration worked. But migration+pruning logic in the script is still unclear.PS- I had to add a
libskiasharp3pkg separately, whichjellyfinneeds. (DevGitPit@b73446f8ec) and here is thebuild.shforjellyfinbump- (DevGitPit@88d721cb33)One lazy idea I have is I should just post to Reddit and whoever wants to install this and migrated can do it using instructions provided there and later on someone can just publish
jellyfin stablewhich would just work fine updating overv12.0-rc2All reactions
